This website contains information about the research project ‘Trust in social work with children’. The project is funded by the Danish Council for Independent Research and directed by professor in Social Science, Dr. Hanne Warming, department of Society and Globalisation, Roskilde University.
The research project consists of the following 4 sub-projects:
- Explorative child-led examination of trust in social work
- Interactional dynamics of trust between the child/youth and the adults involved in care for this child
- The institutional framing of trust in social work with vulnerable children/youth
- A quantitative examination of children’s/youth’s experiences of trust
Hanne Warming will carry out sub-project 1 and 2 and Ph.d student Michael Christensen will be responsible for sub-project 3. Sub-project 4 will be carried out by Hanne Warming together with student assistants Manon Lavaud and Kristine Lagoni.

In connection with the research project, an international scientific network called TRUDY has been established.
In December 2012, the book Participation, Citizenship and Trust in Children’s Lives, edited by Hanne Warming and with contributions from a number of scientists in the TRUDY network, was published at Palgrave MacMillan.
